  • Progressive side wagers: Games like Caribbean Stud Poker often contain one of these. You normally put a bet (a dollar is the normal amt.) to attempt to win a side jackpot that can reach twenty-five thousand dollars. Although big jackpots like these are very alluring, they’re also very difficult to win. You would need to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this wager. Also, picture this- you wager twenty hands and make the side bet every time. That is 20 dollars you could have used towards the actual game wager in place of a sucker wager. Picture what you might have been able to win at a bet with more favorable odds employing that $20.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just 1. This shifts the complete house advantage from two% with one zero wheel to a huge fivepercent in American. The single number bet has only a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much smaller house edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you play it, the casino edge can be a huge 25%. No, that isn’t a error. Because of the huge amount of numbers you must select, it isn’t advisable to wager on Keno to often. A number of times for fun, perhaps. But don’t waste all your cash on it or you’ll quickly find yourself beaten.
