Internet Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

  • Progressive side bets: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You typically put a wager ($1 is the usual amount) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that could reach twenty-five thousand dollars. Though huge jackpots like this are very appealing, they’re also particularly difficult to win. You would need to get a Royal Flush in order to win this bet. Also, picture this- you play 20 hands and place the side wager each time. That is $20 you could have used towards the actual game wager in place of a sucker wager. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a wager with better odds using that twenty dollars.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has just one. This shifts the overall house edge from 2% with a single zero wheel to a whopping fivepercent in American. The individual number bet has just a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much smaller casino edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you bet on it, the casino edge can be a huge twenty-five percent. Yes, that is not a typo. Due to the large amount of numbers you must pick, it’s not recommended to wager on Keno very much. A number of times for fun, maybe. But do not spend all your money on it or you’ll quickly find yourself broke.
